Foreign tourists wishing to visit Nepal must obtain a tourist visa. Such a visa can be issued at the Embassy for a minimum period of 15 days and a maximum of 150 days in a calendar year from January to December. All tourist visas are multiple entry. The visa is valid for six months starting from the date of issuance. Applicants are advised to apply for a tourist visa only for a journey planned within the next six months.

- Original passport with at least 6 months validity and at least 2 blank pages.
- Proof of payment of visa fees. Visa fees can be paid either by card at the Embassy or through a bank transfer to the following bank account. No cash will be accepted at the Embassy.

Application Procedure
Applicants can be present at the Embassy during consular hours. Applications with the above listed documents can also be sent via courier to the embassy at the following address.

The visa process takes about four business days. After the process is completed, the applicant shall be contacted to collect their documents.
Delivery of Visas
By courier
Applicants must contract the delivery and collection courier service at the expense of the interested party after confirmation from the Embassy. \
In person
Applicants can collect the visas after being notified by the Embassy. A designated person (with their D.N.I. or N.I.E.) can also be sent to collect the visas, in which case applicants must submit an authorization signed by the interested party.
For Holders of Travel Documents Other than Ordinary Passports
The following documents have to be submitted at the embassy.
- Original travel document with at least 6 months validity.
- Visa Application Form duly completed and signed.
- Letter of sponsorship signed by a Nepalese citizen.
- Copy of the citizenship certificate of the Nepalese sponsor.
Please note
- Please, before making the payment by bank transfer, wait to receive confirmation from the Embassy approving the correct reception of the documents.
- If you have an urgent need to process your visa, wait to receive confirmation from the Embassy of its availability to meet your deadlines before making the payment.
- For financial security reasons, the Embassy will not be able to reimburse those amounts that have been paid either by bank transfer or by card payment.
- Once we have notified you that the documents are correct, please make the transfer. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Additional Information
- Children under ten years of age will receive a tourist visa free of charge, and must indicate a duration of 30 days on the Visa Application Form, regardless of the period of stay.
- Once issued, the visa cannot be withdrawn and the fee will not be refunded after issuance. The visa can be used within 6 months from the date of issue.
- Visa extension: the maximum duration of the visa that can be processed at the Embassy is 90 days, after which it can only be extended at the Kathmandu Immigration Department or at the Pokhara Immigration Office, and for a total period of a maximum of 150 days in a calendar year from January to December.
